Continued Education Courses:

Practical Anatomy and Physiology: This class covers the structure and function of the human body, including the different systems (e.g. nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal) and how they interact with one another. Students will be challenged to utilize Anatomy and Physiology knowledge to break down case studies and assess clients potential root cases of dysfunctional patterns. This class is offered individually and corporately to Clinics working in manual therapy modalities as a refresher for clinician. 18hr

*Fascia and Connective Tissue: This class covers the study of fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs. Students will learn about the structure and function of fascia, as well as its role in movement and injury prevention. They will also explore the different types of connective tissue and their functions in the body. 12hr

*Advanced Fascial Studies: In this course, students are trained to identify dysfunctional movement patterns in the body as a result of fascial restrictions. They will learn to read the body and apply proven techniques to release adhesions and patterns causing chronic pain and dysfunctional movement, returning the body to more optimal functional existence. Requirements: Must have completed The Fascia and connective tissue course to apply. 16hrs

*Allopathic vs. Vitalistic: This class covers the study of different approaches to healthcare, specifically the differences between the allopathic (Western medicine) and vitalistic (holistic) approaches. Students will learn about the fundamental principles, assumptions, and values that underlie each approach, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of each. They will also explore the role of the massage therapist in relation to these approaches. 4hrs

*VRTU CranioSacral: CranioSacral Technique is an advanced level technique allowing a practitioner to utilize the relationship between the cranial bones, sacrum, and the most internal system that connects them. It balances the body by allowing it to "move through" dysfunctional patterns. In this course you will learn to "listen" to the body and follow its lead as it unwinds and reorganizes itself. By adding intra-oral fascial release techniques, we can assist the body in its ability to stabilize its deepest structural components and retrain its ability to maintain a higher level of functional movement. 24hrs

*VRTU Sports massage: Students will learn how to identify repetitive use patterns, muscular imbalances, anatomy trains and their disruptions, scar tissue, and fascial adhesions that prevent an athlete from operating with smooth and consistent movement. This approach to sports massage works to keep an athlete performing at their most optimal level, as well as prevent injury. 20hrs

*The Spiritual Nature of Massage: In this course students will receive an introduction to and training in the spiritual component of the Mind, Body, Spirit connection. Learning how to be present, set and hold atmosphere, navigate spiritual processes, and understand how to intercede to help clients process healing and restoration according to biblical teaching and principles. 12hrs
